NDA English Vocabulary for GAT

Improve GAT vocabulary through context, word relationships and spaced revision.

In short

Vocabulary is explicitly included in UPSC Part A English, but UPSC does not publish a fixed word list. Preparation therefore focuses on context, relationships and revision rather than scraped lists.

Preparation framework

Learn words in context

Store:

  • word;
  • plain meaning;
  • one correct sentence;
  • synonym or related word where useful;
  • common confusion if relevant.

Build word relationships

Practise synonyms, antonyms, contextual meaning and appropriate word choice as language skills, not as guaranteed question types.

Revision

Use spaced review:

  • same day;
  • after 2 to 3 days;
  • after one week;
  • mixed revision thereafter.

Quality rule

No frequency claims

Enormous scraped lists, unsupported “most repeated NDA words” and claimed frequency are not published unless a reviewed question-level dataset later supports such analysis.

Checked against official NDA & NA GAT sources

UPSC does not publish a detailed English sub-topic list. Skills listed here are preparation skills and are never labelled official sub-sections.
