How to read a NEET cutoff correctly
Qualifying cutoff is not an admission cutoff
Qualifying cutoff
The percentile-based threshold set by NTA that decides whether a candidate is declared qualified for counselling.
Admission or closing rank
The last rank admitted to a particular college and category in a counselling round. It is published by counselling authorities, changes every round, and is not shown on this page.
Why the marks range moves every year
The percentile rule is fixed, but the mark value attached to it is not. It depends on paper difficulty, the number of candidates and the score distribution of that cycle. That is why the 50th percentile equalled 162 marks in 2024, 144 in 2025 and 213 in 2026. Comparing raw marks across years without the percentile rule leads to a wrong conclusion.
Scope of this page
Only qualifying thresholds published by the National Testing Agency are shown.
No predicted cutoff, coaching estimate or expected-score claim is published.
Where a cycle has more than one examination event, the result-bearing event is named.
