CPSS for NDA Air Force Flying: what the legacy PABT term means

At AFSB:

• Stage I is screening;
• Stage II includes psychological tests, group tests and interview;
• Stage III CPSS applies to the Flying pathway under the official conditions.

The current NDA notification should be checked for the NDA-specific rule in force for the cycle.

Official sources support the following:

• the current name is CPSS;
• it is connected to Flying selection;
• the official Air Force guidance treats it as a once-in-a-lifetime assessment;
• prior failure in CPSS/PABT has consequences for Flying eligibility.

Do not publish:

• unofficial scoring formulas;
• a pass-mark guess;
• "secret" joystick settings or game patterns;
• claims that a simulator guarantees success;
• an invented list of cognitive traits with assessor weightings;
• advice for bypassing or gaming test controls.

Safe preparation focuses on controllables:

• read the official call-up instructions carefully;
• arrive rested and able to follow instructions;
• maintain normal concentration and basic computer comfort;
• do not rely on leaked or copied test material;
• treat commercial "PABT/CPSS simulators" as unofficial unless the Air Force explicitly recognises them.

Because CPSS is high-stakes and officially described as once in a lifetime, the page should be conservative rather than speculative.

Choosing Air Force Flying as a preference does not by itself guarantee that pathway. Eligibility, SSB/AFSB outcome, CPSS where applicable, medical fitness, merit, vacancies and official allocation rules all matter.
